Outside Trish forgot about all her worries concerning Mike. She entered the coffee shop and already regretted it. A long queue of people was waiting to be served. Trisha took her place in line. After 15 minutes there was just this one guy in front of her left, finally. Unfortunately she realised that it wasnt as easy as she thought it would be. This guy simply didnt seem to know what he wanted. She started to check him out inconspicuously. Well, if she already couldnt eat, at least her eyes should get some ‘food’. He acutally didnt look that bad. Tall, for sure 6.3, dark hair, well build, mid-20s she guessed. Then she saw his eyes. Wow! She never had seen such blue eyes! They filled his whole face. ‘Not bad!’
‘Parden?’ Trisha kept on looking. ‘Miss?’ The guy reached out for her. She twitched together. ‘What?’ she nearly yelled at him. Then she realised what she just had done. ‘Oh sorry, I must have been daydreaming. I didnt want to yell at you’, she said, noticing that she was flushing. Merde! she thought by herself, that hasnt happen for a long long time. She felt caught and embarrassed.
The guy behind the desk looked impactionately at her. ‘May I take your order, Miss?!’
‘Nen Kaffee Mocca und ein Käsesandwich bitte.’ The guy looked at her as she just had ordered Keanu Reeves on toastbread. ‘One tall coffee moca and a chease bagel please’, blue-eyed-guy said to the servant.
NO!!! She didnt do that. Did she really just place her order in German?! She couldnt belive it. She only did speak in German when either she was quit nervous or far far away with her thoughts. Apparently both fitted now for her. Trisha flushed again and wished the floor below her would open and swallow her in one peace, never let her out again. Blue-eyed-guy smiled at her. This smile, it should be forbidden to have such a smile. Of course the floor below her didnt open and swallow her. Today was defenately not her day. If she told that Dana, she would kill her if she wouldnt die laughing in advance. Trish went to the chashier, paid, took her order and headed to the bar to put some Chocolate powder over her Moca. Blue-eyed-guy was there as well, still smiling at her. ‘Everything ok with you? You seem to be a bit stressed.’ Oh my gosh, he’s talking to me. What shall I do. Trisha started to panic. This wasnt happening to her. No way!
‘Aehm, yes, aehm’, damn, what shall I say now! ‘Hi, I’m Chris.’ Why is he still smiling at me like that, it’s making me go nuts all the way to the sanatory. ‘I’m Trisha, nice to meet you.’ Wow, at least she remembered her name. What a miracle. ‘Yes, nice to meet you too. Already any plans where you go to enjoy your lunchbreak. I assume you are on your lunchbreak, arent you?’ ‘Yes’. This whole thing started to get weird. What was going on here.
‘Yes to what? To my first or my second question?’ ‘Aehm, both. And what about you?’ Trisha slowly found back to herself. ‘Well, I for my part dont really know what to do. I have to spend some time until I meet my brother, who is still caught up in a meeting. May I join you then?’ He looked at her like a puppy. Who could resist such eyes? ‘Aehm, sure, why not, could need some distraction.’ So they both left the coffee shop and headed for the park.
Finally there they placed themself on a bench and started to eat their lunch. ‘So, I havent seen you here’, Chris said,’ you new here?’ ‘Why do you think so?’ ‘Because I nearly know everybody that is a regular in this coffee shop.’ ‘Aha’, Trish said and took another bite from her bagel. ‘So how comes you speak German?’ ‘Well, I lived in Germany for a year, but thats long time ago.’ ‘Hey, that old you cant be, I guessed you around my age, please dont dissapoint me now’, Trisha grinning at Chris. ‘Well, that depends on how old you are, if I may ask you.’ ‘Sure, I dont have a problem with my age. I am 25, well, not quiet but nearly, in about’, Trish started to count, ‘in about 18 days, as we have 1 May.‘ ‘Aha, so you ARE about my age, good guessing. And how come you speak German?’ ‘Hey, you havent told me yet how old you are!’ ‘You havent asked yet!’ now it was Chris grinning at her. ‘I am 26. And now to your German skills.’ ‘Well I have lived in Switzerland for my first 13 years of my life. Do you know Switzerland?’ ‘Aehm, isnt that where the blonds are?’ ‘BEEEP! Candidate has no points. Second try.’ ‘Hmm, what else do we have there, so next to Germany we have France.’ ‘Just, maintenant le candidate recue 100%.’ ‘Hey, you speak French as well? Amazing! I always wanted to learn French too!’ ‘So you dont know how French goes?’ Trisha asked back, looking at him disbelivingly, trying to hide her laugh. ‘No, never had the chance to do it.’ ‘Ahaaa’, now Trish couldnt hold back her laugh. Chris looked at her, realising what she had meant and how he had reacted to it. ‘Oh you..’, Chris was looking for words but then he started to laugh himself. So they were both sitting on this bench and were fooling and joking around when Trisha realised how late it already was. ‘Hey Chris, nice to meet you, but as much as I would enjoy staying here with you, I have to go back to work, my boss isnt in a good mood anyway and if I am late again I dont know what ‘s going to happen, and honestly, I dont want to find out. Maybe we will meet again?’ Hopefully she looked at Chris. She had really liked the time with him. ‘Sure, I hope we will meet again. It was a real pleisure to meet you Trish.’ With that he took her hand and gave her a kiss on it. Real gentlemenlike. Trish flushed again. Wow, twice in one day, this day I have to mark in my agenda as very special, she made a mind-note to herself.
Chris walked her back to her office, wished her a better afternoon and left. The afternoon was with no further complications. Mike was busy on a meeting the whole afternoon and she could work on her projects she wasnt able to his morning. Finally home, she went to the calender at the wall and made a big red circle around May 1th. She really wondered if she will ever see Chris again.
